I started writing because I wanted a space to share with family and friends when we left Adelaide to start our adventure, I stopped writing because I felt like it was becoming too much of a self centred space, I felt as if I was ignoring the real issues of the world, and in such a public space I felt like I 'should' be addressing those issues.

Then I floated the idea of more recipes, chronicling our journey to health, but you only have to type "health" or "wellness" or "paleo", "vegan" into the search engine and you have a plethora of blogs and websites to access...why would mine be any better? How could I compete with photos of such extremely good quality? How could I stick out from the crowd? Who is even reading this blog?

I started studying Nutritional medicine at the beginning of the year, I am still in the very early stages, of the degree due to our location and work commitments. I also started teaching at the beginning of the year, casually but regardless I started. Life sort of got normal, Broome became normal, and still is, I felt like I didn't have anything exciting to write about....I still don't feel like I do. And honestly world issues, well I choose not to go there because that's way out of my comfort zone. I don't have enough knowledge, time to research or passion to write about them. I am by no means saying I don't care, I just feel as if my driving passions lie in different areas.

So here I am again with the dilemma....

How are you? What do you think about blogging? Is anybody out there????

Here are some photos for you.

We flew down to Perth in the Baron - it was amazing

  1. Hi Juli! I'm reading your blog :) For what it's worth, I think there's no need to write about big world issues unless you have a real passion to address a particular one (or more), and some of the most interesting and engaging writing deals with the day to day life, concerns, relationships etc of everyday people not involved in the big world issues (talking about fiction and biographies as well as blogs here!). I would rather read about what someone is passionate about in a public space like a blog, than about an issue they feel they should address just because they're in a public space. I love your photos! Especially the one called "just another day" - it makes me feel happy just looking at it!
