House-sitters anonymous

One of the fabulous parents at the school I worked at in Broome, see below pic of the oval/play area, offered us her house for a week while they went to Perth. She is a doctor, and they were given a fab house with her work - don't worry, we have discussed at length why Beau didn't study medicine!!- anyway, so in our last week in Broome we had the luxury of house-sitting.
It meant we could pack the tent up at leisure and have everything packed and ready to go a few days before we left, in theory allowing us a relaxed start on our trip to Halls Creek, that didn't happen, but more on that later.
Here are some photos of our last days in Broome town...

The school I worked at for almost 4 weeks, and where I hope to return one day.

Over the course of our stay at the caravan park we regularly got surprised comments about having a queen bed in our orange dome tent. The bed was our saving grace it made living in Domey for a full 4 weeks totally doable.

Flex those muscles! The ground was rock hard, luckily we had some giant tent pegs as I don't think the original tent pegs would have stood up to the challenge.

Thanks for the memories Domey, you were amazing!

Our camp site - looking decidedly bare. :(

Town Beach Cafe, our local hang out, it looked out onto town beach and was next door to the caravan park. That's my type of cafe.

Our house-sit had a POOL!

They also had a thermomix!!! I got to practise and prove to Beau that they really are worth $2000. Now the saving begins!!

Its was so nice to have all the equipment to make a delish dinner. Camping makes you appreciate the small things.

Broome Airport, in the centre of town.

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our house-sit, we are very grateful to the Adams family for open their doors to virtual strangers, I hear that is Broome hospitality for you. Sadly that ended our time in Broome, for now. With a heavy heart, but many wonderful memories we headed for Halls Creek. More on that in my next post.
xx
